Өнөөдөр Дэлхийн радиогийн өдөр тохиож байна. 2011 онд зохион байгуулагдсан ЮНЕСКО-гийн 36 дугаар Ерөнхий бага хурлын ээлжит чуулганы үеэр хоёрдугаар сарын 13-ныг “Дэлхийн Радиогийн өдөр” болгон жил бүр тэмдэглэн өнгөрүүлэхээр тунхагласан байдаг.
Дэлхийн радиогийн өдрийг энэ жил "Радио ба итгэлцэл" сэдвийн хүрээнд тэмдэглэн өнгөрүүлэхээр ЮНЕСКО-оос улс орнуудад уриалсан байна. Дэлхийн радиогийн өдрийг тэмдэглэх гол зорилго нь олон нийтэд радиогийн үнэ цэнэ, ач холбогдлыг сурталчлан таниулах, радио өргөн нэвтрүүлгийн хүртээмжийг сайжруулах, сонсогчдынхоо дуу хоолойг сонсох, радиогийн хөгжлийн асуудлыг хэлэлцэх, сайжруулахад оршдог.
2023 онд энэ өдрийг “Радио ба энх тайван” сэдвийн дор тэмдэглэхийг ЮНЕСКО-оос уриалсан.
